:: PARAMOTOR PILOT SAVED BY MAYDAY ::

(OR WHY YOU NEED EMERGENCY PARACHUTE)

The annual French Paramotor Championship this year was held May 5-9.
Olivier Gilliocq, one of the competitors and a member of the French Team flying Dudek, had an emergency forcing him to deploy his emergency parachute.

Luckily for him, just 2 days before the incident, he purchased his first APCO Mayday.

As always, the Mayday did a perfect job, setting him down safe and unhurt.

And the moral of the story..

For many years emergency parachute has been recognized and accepted as a must have item on the free flying scene – hang gliders and paragliders. There are many documented life-saving incidents recorded since first generation of Maydays appeared in the late ‘70’s (who would believe it’s now over 30 years ago).

Unfortunately the PPG scene is different – many
paramotor pilots still believe they do not need
an emergency chute..

This incident is a wake-up call to all our flying community and fresh proof of the necessity having emergency parachute on every flight – one day, it may save your life.

Make sure you fly with Mayday!!!
