Bagheera II is the 2002 update of the Bagheera. The Bagheera II is equiped with a new speed system. These changes give glide and stability at top speed along with a increase in top speed. In Kipling's famous "Jungle Book", Bagheera is the friendly, good natured Black Panther that protects Mogli by using his incredible speed, quick reactions and power. Bagheera combines the best flying performance found today with handling, safety and launch characteristics of a Performance Class glider (DHC 2/CEN Performance). Bagheera is the only true high performance glider free from the painful trade-off: performance sacrificed for handling and safety. Only by flying Bagheera will you be able to fully appreciate the justification of its name. |

The Bagheera represents an important and significant step in paraglider evolution, both for APCO –its originator- and hopefully for the flying community as a whole. Our R & D team of aeronautical engineers and test pilots orchestrated by Anatoly Cohn, successfully completed the formidable taskof designing an unusually innovative glider. The Bagheera combines the best flying performance to be found today with the handling, safety and launch characteristics suited for a pilot who insists on flying a performance class glider. The aim of the Bagheera project was to avoid the commonly painful compromise: the trade off in which performance is always sacrificed for handling and safety. Bagheera is uncompromising. It boasts incomparable performance together with excellent safety and handling properties. The Bagheera is a wonderful blend of the best of its predecessors from APCO designers, deriving its origins from two well-known market bestsellers: TIGRA-embodying the well-proven top performance on the cutting edge of paraglider technology and FUTURA- with over 1000 gliders sold, evidence of unsurpassed record of safety and stability. With its vastly improved handling, Bagheera answers to the demands of even the most discriminating pilots. We stake our reputation behind this bold declaration. Bagheera Comp: In order to meet the requirements of the new Serial class competition rules, we re-certified the Bagheera in competition rigging configuration. We believe this Bagheera to be an excellent tool and an easy formula to win a competition. It combines Top-level performance that will beat most of the "comp protos" together with the re-assuring safety of the Performance class certification. This makes flying the demanding competition tasks easy, as the Bagheera lets you concentrate on flying tactics without having to be worried about safety. The only difference between the Bagheera and the Bagheera comp is the type of line used. The Bagheera comp has unsheathed Aramid lines. The line lengths are all identical. The Bagheera has been certified Afnor Performance in all sizes with unsheathed comp. lines. |
